PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The SMARTFLEXCELL project offers a flexible tool that provides great versatility to robotic cells, allowing them to be reconfigured from one production series to another in a matter of minutes. This flexibility in the worktables is complemented by high energy efficiency and operational simplicity, given that the system is completely passive, without the need for motors, since it is moved by the robot itself. In addition, it stands out for its high precision, allowing machining and drilling operations with a variation of less than 14 microns. This system provides flexibility to the last part of the work triangle of a robotic cell (Robot – Work cradle – Tool) and can be defined as a low-cost flexibility solution.
SOLUTION AND TECHNOLOGIES
SMARTFLEXCELL’s main innovation lies in a patented system that allows the position of the Hexapods to be fixed with exceptional precision and repeatability. This enables their use in machining and drilling jobs, in addition to traditional spot welding and electric arc welding functions. It is worth noting that the locking of the Hexapods does not generate energy consumption, since energy is only consumed at the time of moving it, maintaining zero consumption throughout the work and production process.
